It's one of the most common questions we get from couples planning their wedding, and a fair one: after a full day of celebration, how many photographs will actually end up in your final gallery?
The short answer
For a full day of coverage, from preparations to the last dance, most of our couples receive between 800 and 1,300 final images. The exact number depends on the length of the day, the number of guests, and how many distinct moments the celebration includes, a religious ceremony and a civil ceremony on the same day, for instance, naturally produces more images than a single event.
What affects the final number
- Hours of coverage: a twelve-hour day naturally produces more images than a six-hour one
- Number of guests and distinct groups for family portraits
- Number of locations or ceremonies across the day
- Whether a second photographer is present, capturing simultaneous moments from different angles
Quality over quantity: why more isn't always better
A photographer might capture four or five thousand frames across a wedding day, but delivering all of them would do you a disservice: dozens of near-identical shots of the same toast, blinks, and transitional moments that add clutter rather than value. The editing process is as much about curation as it is about post-production, selecting only the images that genuinely earn a place in the story of your day.
"A gallery of 1,000 carefully chosen photographs will move you more than 4,000 unfiltered ones ever could."
How and when you'll receive them
Post-production, the careful color grading, retouching-free editing, and curation of every image, is one of the most time-intensive parts of the process, and represents a significant share of the total work behind a wedding. We typically need around two weeks to complete this work, with a contractual guarantee of delivery within one month of your wedding date, delivered through a private online gallery you can share with family and friends.
